-
Respond to enquiries and discuss potential projects, services and partnerships.
-
Maintain relevant correspondence and business records.
-
Send AEDE updates when you subscribe.
-
Operate and protect our website and communications.

Our lawful bases
For general enquiries and business correspondence, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to requests, assessing opportunities and managing business relationships.
Where you ask us to take steps towards entering a contract with you personally, or we perform that contract, we rely on contract.
For subscribed email updates, we rely on consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link or emailing us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Where we must retain or disclose information to meet a legal requirement, we rely on legal obligation.
Who receives your information
We use Wix to host and operate our website, receive enquiry forms, manage contact records and send subscribed email updates.
We use Microsoft 365 to receive, store and manage email correspondence, including enquiries sent to enquiries@aede.co.uk.
Wix and Microsoft use affiliated companies and service providers to support their services. Relevant personal information is processed as necessary to provide those services.
We use Usercentrics for Wix to display our cookie banner, manage cookie preferences and record visitors’ choices. This involves processing information about those choices, when they were made and the device used.
We may also share relevant information with our legal, accounting, insurance and other professional advisers where necessary, and with authorities where disclosure is legally required.
International transfers
We use Wix, Microsoft 365 and Usercentrics for Wix to support our website and communications. These services may involve processing personal information outside the UK.
Where this happens, we rely on applicable adequacy arrangements or appropriate contractual safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. The relevant arrangements are described in our providers’ data-processing terms.
Further information is available in the Wix Data Processing Agreement, Microsoft Data Protection Addendum and Usercentrics legal documents.
Contact enquiries@aede.co.uk for information about the safeguards relevant to your personal information and how to obtain a copy.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to support its operation and security and to remember your privacy preferences.
We use Usercentrics for Wix to display our cookie banner, manage preferences and record visitors’ choices. Where optional technologies require consent, they are used only after you agree.
You can review the declared services and change your choices at any time by selecting “Cookie settings” in the website footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected.
-
Enquiries that do not proceed: normally up to 12 months after our last meaningful contact, unless there is a specific, documented reason to retain relevant information longer.
-
Commissions and partnerships: throughout the relationship and afterwards for the period necessary to meet applicable legal, contractual and insurance requirements and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We determine retention periods according to the type of record, the agreement and the relevant obligations or claim periods.
-
Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe or we discontinue the updates. We retain a minimal suppression record where necessary to respect your decision not to receive marketing.
-
Website technical and security records: for the period necessary to operate the website, investigate faults and security incidents, and protect against misuse, taking account of our providers’ retention settings.
-
Cookie preferences and consent records: we retain these for the period needed to remember your choices and demonstrate how consent was managed, taking account of the consent-management service’s retention arrangements and any applicable legal requirements.
-
We periodically review personal information and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
Providing enquiry information is voluntary, but without sufficient contact details or information about your request we may be unable to respond. Newsletter subscription is optional.
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of its use or transfer to another organisation.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your situation. You can object to direct marketing at any time, and we will stop using your information for that purpose.
To exercise your rights, email enquiries@aede.co.uk.
Complaints
You can raise concerns with us using the contact details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator:
